May 2019 Glastonbury Confirmation Delighted to confirm we will be heading back to Glastonbury Festival (and back to the Green Futures Field the location of our first ever event back in 2005). We have appeared in many guises over the years, initially with the Earth Arcade (our renewable powered eco themed games arcade) and most recently with the very popular 'Whole in One' (eco themed crazy golf). This time we will be making our Glastonbury debut with Mission Critical Escape - our 15 minute Eco-themed escape room type experience. We created Mission Critical with Glastonbury in mind and can't wait to take it there. There's still plenty of work to do in the final few weeks. If you are going to Glastonbury Festival in June do come and find us in the Green Futures Field. A massive thanks to the Green Futures Crew for having us back. Eco Van Woes It has been a little bit of a nighmare this month. We take the eco van off road during the quiet season to save money, starting it up now and again to keep it ticking over. Sadly this MOT time it wouldnt start at all. First up, took the battery out to recharge - no joy. Then a battery test, failed. New battery on board, still no joy. Hours and hours of fiddling and testing later (Thanks Alan), we got it up an running. We think it was a connection to the fuel pump. MOT passed eventually. This year we are running on empty, so getting through the test is so important. You can support our eco van by sponsoring a part of it through our Big Eco Van funding drive.
January 2019 Wind turbine interactive in use at Science Under the Stars Our interactive wind turbine model was in use at the recent Science Under the Stars event in Heswall . October 2018 Escaping to Blackberry Fair Our first outing for Mission Critical on hard standing proved successful at this year's Blackberry Fair . The escape room inspired climate change themed adventure was run from our gazebo in Whitchurch town centre . September 2018 Mission Critical: Our secret is out! Our latest work had its first real life test at Wirral Earth Fest in West Kirby . We've been working behind the scenes for months on this new climate change themed escape room inspired experience . There were a few late nights in the final weeks before the event to get everything ready (including some last minute tests with volunteers!) . The preparation paid off with the fifteen minute adventure proving popular with participants.
June 2018 Starting conversations about sustainability in Chester Our eco house model was on show as part of a presentation on the work of Sticky Exhibits at the Chester Sustainability Forum in June January 2018 Twice the fun at Science Under the Stars Two of our exhibits where in use at the Science Under the Stars event in Heswall. Our energy efficiency house model and inflatable planet. November 2017 Exploring the alternatives to fossil fuels in Ellesmere Port Alternative energy was in the spotlight as part of an event in Ellesmere Port. We had a variety of our energy exhibits in use at the anti tracking rally held in the town centre . October 2017 Blackberry Jam Great to take our eco house model and thermal imaging camera to Blackberry Fair 2018. We exhibited in the Blackberry Jam zone taking our eco van and pop up energy exhibition. September 2017 Put to the test at Earth Fest It was great to take part in Wirral Earth Fest 2017. It was a wet start but the sun eventually shown through. The event marked a first 'live' test of our new home energy efficiency model. It's not yet complete and we will now progress and modify the exhibit based on our experience using it at a real world event. June 2017 Glastonbury Bound It's hard to believe but we have survived another year - edging towards our goal of building a library of interactive exhibits, props and models for environmental awareness! Thanks to Green Futures Festivals we will be heading back to Glastonbuty Festival where we first began opening conversations about sustainability all those years ago. If you are going to the festival come and find us in the Green Futures Field. April 2017 Home energy exhibit grant boost Delighted to report work on our home energy efficiency exhibit is now underway thanks to support from the Greggs Foundation. Our successful application for an environmental grant means that we can now afford to get the neccessary parts and equipment to convert the dolls house that was donated to us earlier in the year. Check back here for updates.
February 2017 Sponsor a part to play a part in the big ecovan fundraising drive We've launched a sponsorship drive to support the use of our ecovan as the centrepiece in our pop-up environmental exhibitions. To encourage the widest possible involvement well wishers can sponsor different parts of the van or from an indicator bulb, to the engine. Visit the campaign page to find out more and get involved.
If you can do please sponsor a part to help play a part supporting our environmental awareness work. Curry night success A big thanks to everyone who made donations to support Sticky Exhibits at a recent curry evening fund raiser. The evening raised a much needed £120 to support our work Vote for Sticky Exhibits in Galaxy Bid We'd like to invite you to support our bid for funding to the Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund. Thanks in anticipation of your support. If successful we'll have a further element for our pop up exhibition.
Donated Doll's House We were delighted to receive a dolls house that will hopefully form the basis for a home energy efficiency exhibit. A big thank you to Wendy and Arnold.
October 2016 Back to School in Chester Promoted as an opportunity for local people to find out ways to save energy and save money, Sticky Exhibits was on hand with our renewable energy exhibition for an event taking place at Chester Blue Coats School
Back in Black It was great to be back at Blackberry Fair, an event that has grown from strength to strength. The weather did its best to 'rain on the parade', but it did not dampen spirits for the many people who turned up to this fantastic festival on the streets of Whitchurch. Sticky Exhibits were on hand offering a round of eco themed crazy golf.
September 2016 An event with lots of energy It was great to take our pop-up renewable energy exhibition to the fantastic Wirral Earth Fest in West Kirby. Visitors enjoyed finding out about the different technologies for harnessing wind and solar power. Our exhibition was next to the main stage making it a most enjoyable day of music and merriment.
July 2016 Sticky Exhibits on hand to promote plans for a community solar scheme at Chester leisure centre As a community interest company we get involved in events large and small. It was good to take part in an event to promote a local community solar scheme planned for the Northgate Arena leisure centre in Chester.
June 2016 Mud glorious mud? Thanks to a band of committed volunteers and some careful preparations we were able to entertain festival goers to a round of eco themed crazy golf in spite of some difficult site conditions. Persistant rain in the run up to the festival resulted in some damp ground conditions which soon turned to mud. At times it was a battle to keep our golf greens open but for those who found us a warm welcome awaited. As ever, thanks to Green Futures crew for inviting us and working tirelessly to make the Green Futures field a special place to visit.
Glastonbury Bound! We are delighted to be invited back to be a part of the Green Futures Field at Glastonbury Festival 2016. Work is underway on some enhancements and tweaks to our 'Whole in One' eco crazy golf course first developed for the festival three years ago. If you are heading to the festival come and play our greens in the green fields. Here's a photo of a rare hole in one celebration from last year.
Parking secured for Eco Van We are most pleased to have partnered with the University of Chester's Department of Geography and International Development to find a home for our eco van. Our eco exhibition vehicle will soon be parked on the University's Chester campus. We have enjoyed a productive relationship for many years through a variety of student projects and placements. The Department has a very strong sustainability programme and we hope to be doing a few more university events in the coming months.
May 2016 Spring Cleaning Lots to do to get ready for the event season, starting with a spring sort out. Here's a before picture. Hopefully the after one will look a little tidier!
