Inflatable Earth

A 1.8 metre (approx) inflatable globe showing the earth from space. This prop is ideal for photocalls to promote your upcoming environmental event, strategy launch, or for attracting attention at indoor workplace environmental promotions.

Inflatable Earth Prop

The inflatable planet also forms the centre piece for our ‘pledge planet’ installation with the globe suspended inside a geodesic frame. Event visitors are encouraged to pledge actions. These pledges are made on bunting flags which are then used to decorate the structure.

Wind power exhibits, props and models

How wind turbines work

A mini wind generator interactive exhibit.  Users can experiment with different wind turbine blade configurations.  A push button operated fan and meter enable them to test the impact of varying the number and angle of blades – so which is best 3, 4 or 6?

Solar electricity exhibits and props

How Solar Electricity Works

The ‘How Solar Electricity Works’ exhibit is comprised of an clear acrylic dome containing a  model house fitted with solar cells.  The cells are connected to both a volt meter and ammeter to show the voltage and current.  They power a small motor which spins when  light shines.  If you reduce the light the motor slows or stops spinning and the needles in the two meters drop.

How Solar Hot Water Systems Work (flat plate)

An interactive panel that enables visitors to explore the principles used to capture the Sun’s energy in a flat plate solar thermal collector.  The panel includes four ‘touch’ points to illustrate the impact of different aspects of a flat plate collector’s design.  Central to each point is a metal square linked to a digital thermometer to show how each feature helps to  raise the temperature of the collector.

Flat Plate Solar Hot Water System

A working model of a solar hot water system.  The package includes a  quarter size flat plate collector panel with solar electric pump, connecting pipes and a bucket.  Set it up outside on a sunny day to heat a bucket of water.

Evacuated Tube Solar Thermal Panel Prop

A display prop showing evacuated tubes from an evacuated tube solar thermal collector.

Model energy house with thermal camera

The energy house is a model of semi-detached property.  One semi is insulated and has  double glazing and the other does not.  A cup of hotwater is placed in each ‘home’ to simulate having the heating on.  The model can then be viewed with a thermal imaging camera to see the beneficial effect of insulation and double glazing to prevent heat loss.

Earth Arcade games

‘3 Rs’ pinball (Reduce, Re-use, Recycle)

A pinball game with a  playing surface that promotes the 3 Rs – Reduce Reuse Recycle. Your ball is a proxy for a resource. You must try and keep it in play as long as possible. Score points for hitting the targets in traditional pinball style.  At the very top of the table ‘Reduce’ targets score high, in the middle ‘Reuse’ is the message; and at the bottom ‘Recycle’. If your ball goes out of play it is ‘wasted’.

Waste binvaders

[currently unavailable pending repair]

A twist on the well known ’80s arcade classic, that has been cleaned up, reused and recycled to make a fun 21st Century recycling ‘sweep’ um up!  Legions of waste binvaders and wheelie binvaders drop litter and recyclable materials on to your recycling crew.  Sweep away the falling litter, but catch the recyclables in your recycling wagon before the place gets clogged up in waste!

‘Your Future’ fortune teller machine

Inspired by the old arcades, ‘Your Future’ is a ‘fortune telling’-type machine with a sustainability twist.   Place your hand in the slot and press your palm on the ‘palm reader’ and our ‘mystic in the box’ will consult his crystal ball and share his tongue-in-cheek eco-themed observations about your future.

Interactive Quiz Boards

Our interactive quiz boards are a great means of engagement with ‘passing trade’.  Our collection includes two types.  We have both ‘lift a flap’ and ‘press a button’ options.  Write you question and a series of potential answers with chalk on the boards.  When visitors lift the correct flap or press the correct button they trigger a round of applause.
