Who we are
We are Sticky Exhibits Community Interest Company- a volunteer run not-for-profit organisation based in Chester, UK.
We are a Community Interest Company Limited by Guarantee. (Company No. 6512455)
Our registered office address is 8 Abbots Grange Chester CH2 1AJ. Our primary contact email is stickyexhibits [at] myphone [dot] coop.
Our business is focused on providing access to interactive exhibits, props and models for use at events to support education and awareness around sustainability issues.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We only make use of any personal information dislosed to us for legitimate core business purposes.
The only infomation we routinely collect is that which you voluntarily provide us when you get in touch if you make an enquiry, contact us to offer help, or book our services. For example, if you email, get in touch by phone, or by letter, we may hold the information provided to respond to you. If you then progress to book and pay us to provide a service for your event we will then need to collect the necessary information to fulfill this contract and maintain required records to meet our legal responsibilities such as records of financial transactions between us. If you contact us to offer to work as a volunteer, we may ask for and record personal information in relation to this offer. Should we find a role you can fulfil we will then need to maintain records so we can keep in contact and fulfil our legal obligations for any voluntary work that you do for us.
Beyond standard business activities, some data is also generated and collected by your interaction with our website. This is described in more detail in the section on our website below.
How we protect your data
Our own computer systems are password protected to limit access for authorised users only and we utilise security software to protect them from malicous attacks.
Paper records are held in files in locked premises. Where we maintain paper based records these are shredded when no longer needed.
Only volunteers and company officers who need access to your data to fulfil their roles will have access to it.
Sharing information with third parties
We are not in the business of harvesting your personal data to sell on to others. Some of the information you provide us with, or arising from your activities with us, may result in data used or seen by third parties that we rely on for our operations. For example paying money to us involves our bank or PayPal, sending an email involves data held on our email providers systems, making a call involves generating records with our telephone service provider and so on.
We strive to use reputable third party organisations who operate in the United Kingdom and thus must abide by the same standards and laws to protect privacy.
If your contact with us involves a financial transaction, we may need to share necessary information with our professional accountants for the purposes of producing legally required accounts and financial statements. Again we use a reputable accountant based in the UK who must abide by the same privacy laws as us.
